As the frame was bronze-welded (by Mr. Jack Wren), you cannot get rid of the old nickel galvanically because the bronze will vanish and you´ll end with a couple of polished and bent tubes! Don´t do it, whatever your galvanic-shop tells you! You have to find someone who has a bath of sulfuric-acid which is big enough for the frame. After that, the frame has to be sanded and polished again by hand, which makes the procedure an expensive one: I spent over 800,-€ in 2003 for it. My frame was done by Kissling Galvanische Werke, Neusaess/Germany and I´m quite satisfied with the result:
